The proof dossier

Every claim, named and checkable.

Five supplier-held standards across the supply chain, plus OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 on two products. Each one is scoped to the products it covers, attributed to its issuing body, and verifiable by you β€” not a slogan.

Design Delight Studio products meet five independent standards: GOTS, OCS, GRS, and PETA-Approved Vegan, plus Fair Wear Foundation membership for factory labor on Stanley/Stella garments. Two products also hold OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100, shown by certificate number. Every claim is product-scoped and verifiable with the issuing body.

A β€” The standards

Five independent standards

Each is held by our suppliers and verified by an independent third party. Click any link to confirm it with the issuing body.

Gold standard
GOTS β€” Global Organic Textile Standard

The leading processing standard for organic fibers. GOTS covers the supply chain from cotton to finished garment against environmental and social criteria, and is the most comprehensive textile certification available.

  • At least 70% certified organic fibers β€” our organic products use 80 to 100%.
  • Bans on toxic chemicals, heavy metals, and harmful dyes at every stage.
  • Social criteria and safe conditions, verified by annual audits.
  • Full chain-of-custody documentation from farm to finished product.

On: tees, hoodie, sweatshirts (organic), and the tote.

Recycled standard
GRS β€” Global Recycled Standard

Owned by Textile Exchange. GRS verifies recycled content and tracks it through the supply chain, with chemical and social requirements and full chain-of-custody documentation.

  • Minimum 20% recycled content, verified through chain of custody.
  • Strict chemical restrictions throughout processing.
  • Diverts plastic from landfill toward a circular model.

On: hoodie and sweatshirts (20% recycled), all-over-print sweatshirt (96% recycled).

Owner: Textile Exchange
Content verified
OCS β€” Organic Content Standard

Owned by Textile Exchange. While GOTS covers the whole process, OCS specifically verifies and tracks the percentage of organically grown material in the final product, preventing organic-content misrepresentation.

  • Exact organic percentage, independently verified.
  • Transaction certificates issued for every production batch.
  • Anti-fraud mechanism against organic-content claims.

On: tees (100% organic), hoodie and sweatshirts (80% organic), tote (100% organic).

Owner: Textile Exchange
Cruelty-free
PETA-Approved Vegan

Certifies that a product contains no animal-derived materials or by-products, confirming cruelty-free composition. Our prints use water-based, vegan inks.

  • Zero animal-derived materials or by-products.
  • Water-based, vegan inks throughout printing.
  • Signed PETA pledge with ongoing compliance.

On: Stanley/Stella tees, hoodie, and sweatshirts, and the Econscious tote.

Labor conditions
Fair Wear Foundation

Our garment supplier Stanley/Stella is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation, a multi-stakeholder organization that audits factory working conditions against ILO labor standards. It is a factory-labor scheme covering working conditions, distinct from any consumer ethical-trade pricing certification.

  • Factory audits against ILO core labor standards.
  • Safe conditions, fair hours, freedom of association.
  • Annual brand performance review, published by Fair Wear.

OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100, on two products

A finished-textile test for harmful substances. We hold it on two specific products, each identified by certificate number β€” not as a brand-wide claim. Tap a ticket to verify it in OEKO-TEX Label Check.

OEKO-TEX is distinct from organic status: it tests the finished textile against regulated and harmful substances, and applies to the specific certified article β€” which is why it sits on two products rather than the whole catalog.

D β€” Verify it yourself

Five steps to check any certification

A method that works for any brand, not just ours.

  1. Look for named standards

Require specific names like GOTS, GRS, OCS, Fair Wear Foundation, or OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 β€” not vague words like eco-friendly, which have no auditable standard behind them.

  2. Open the issuing body

Go to the certifier directly: global-standard.org, textileexchange.org, peta.org, fairwear.org, and the OEKO-TEX Label Check for STANDARD 100 numbers.

  3. Match the certificate to the product

Confirm the material and country of origin match the certificate scope, and that any certificate number is current.

  4. Check supply-chain traceability

Transparent brands can name each step: raw material, weaving, dyeing, manufacturing, fulfillment.

  5. Read what a label does not cover

Fair Wear Foundation is a factory-labor scheme covering working conditions, not a consumer ethical-trade label; OEKO-TEX tests the finished textile, not organic status. Honest brands state each claim's limits.

E β€” Questions

Straight answers

Which certifications do Design Delight Studio products carry?
Across the catalog, our suppliers hold five standards: GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), OCS (Organic Content Standard), GRS (Global Recycled Standard), and PETA-Approved Vegan, plus Fair Wear Foundation membership for factory labor conditions on Stanley/Stella garments. Two products also carry OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100, shown by certificate number on those products. The exact set differs per product.
How can I verify your certifications are real?
Every certification links to its issuing body. GOTS licenses are searchable at global-standard.org. OCS and GRS are owned by Textile Exchange. PETA-Approved Vegan status is listed at peta.org. Fair Wear Foundation publishes brand performance at fairwear.org. OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certificate numbers can be entered in the OEKO-TEX Label Check tool. We provide transaction certificates on request at customersupport@ddsboston.com.
How is factory labor covered in your supply chain?
Our garment supplier Stanley/Stella is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation, which audits factory labor conditions against ILO standards, and the cotton is GOTS-certified, which includes social criteria. We describe this labor credential accurately as Fair Wear Foundation membership rather than as any broader consumer ethical-trade certification, because that is exactly what our supplier holds.
Which products have OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100, and what are the certificate numbers?
Two products carry OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100, a finished-textile test for harmful substances: the Stanley/Stella STTU169 tee and the Econscious EC8000 tote. The certificate numbers are shown on those two products and can be confirmed in the OEKO-TEX Label Check. OEKO-TEX is a product-level certificate, not a brand-wide claim.
What is the difference between GOTS and OCS certification?
GOTS certifies the whole production process, including environmental and social criteria, and requires at least 70% organic fibers. OCS specifically verifies and tracks the percentage of organic material through the supply chain. Many of our products carry both: GOTS for process integrity, OCS for content proof.
Where are your products manufactured?
Our Stanley/Stella organic cotton tees, hoodie, and sweatshirt are sourced from Bangladesh with traceability from weaving through manufacturing. The Econscious organic cotton tote is sourced from India. The all-over-print recycled-polyester sweatshirt is produced in Mexico or Latvia.
What about the recycled polyester releasing microfibers?
We are transparent about this trade-off. The all-over-print sweatshirt is 96% GRS-certified recycled polyester and 4% elastane, and recycled polyester sheds plastic microfibers during washing. We recommend washing cold and using a microfiber-catching laundry bag. The GRS certification confirms recycled content that diverts plastic from landfill, but we acknowledge the wash-stage impact.
Does Design Delight Studio offer free shipping?
Yes. All products ship free, with no minimum order. Because items are made on demand, allow roughly 7 to 11 days for production and delivery to the United States.

Design Delight Studio holds five supplier-verified certifications across six products β€” GOTS, GRS, OCS, PETA-Approved Vegan, and Fair Wear Foundation β€” plus OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 on two products with certificate numbers you can check. We name the issuing body for every claim, scope each one to the products it covers, and leave it off where it does not apply. That absence is part of the proof.
